Springer PTA Multicultural Fair

In 2021, PTA our very own Apurva Oka led a group of volunteers to host a night for our Springer community to come together and teach each other about the traditional food, celebrations, art, music, dance, and even toys from different countries and cultures represented in our Springer community. It was a HUGE hit that year and has been a delicious and beloved Springer tradition ever since!

No ticket necessary! Just come and enjoy! Consider signing up to share your family’s culture! Friends can volunteer together!

Our school community is made stronger by the many cultures, traditions, languages, and experiences our families bring with them.  A consistent PTA goal is to partner with the school staff and district to create a welcoming community where everyone feels proud to share their family’s story and encouraged to explore, listen, and learn.  The PTA Multicultural Fair on September 18 is an opportunity to celebrate that diversity and give our children a chance to learn about the world through the people they already know.

At this event, we ask families to sign up to share their culture through food, music, clothing, games, toys, traditions, etc - however is appropriate and with inclusivity as the goal.  We hope the collaborative effort to share will help students experience cultures in a personal and meaningful way. Just as importantly, this event gives children the opportunity to ask questions, discover similarities, appreciate differences, and develop curiosity and respect for one another. 

Springer PTA works closely with our school staff to make the Multicultural Fair not only a celebration, but also an environment for learning. Events like this help our children understand an important lesson: our differences are something to be curious about and celebrate, and learning about one another helps build a stronger, more connected community.

No! This event is hosted by Springer PTA free for the entire Springer Community to enjoy together with their entire family! Please attend and learn more about the diverse community we enjoy at Springer.
