Become a PTA Member

Embrace your community. Stay informed. Advocate for Education.

No Volunteering Required.

Joining the PTA is an impactful way you can support your child’s education and help shape a stronger school community.

As a PTA member, you’ll be informed, have a voice in important decisions, and support bringing enriching programs, events, and resources to our school. Whether you can volunteer your time or simply lend your support through membership, every parent’s involvement makes a difference. Together, we can create the most connected, inclusive, and thriving environment for all our children.

Join PTA — we’re stronger with you!

$6.10 of your PTA dues are sent to the California State PTA to help fund public education advocacy. If you would like to join PTA but the dues are a financial hardship, please email historian@springerpta.org for free membership.

LASD Education Partners

Our PTA works closely with the school district (LASD) and the Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF) as the LASD Education Partners. Please consider donating to LAEF to support Springer and ensure our students and teachers have what they need to provide an education above and beyond what public schools can usually offer. Read more about LAEF below.

Starting this year, LAEF is taking on additional responsibility by fundraising for instructional programs and materials previously funded by PTAs. As a result, our PTA fundraising goal is reduced and we will be focusing on the goals below.

Springer PTA goals:

  • support our students & staff through classroom volunteering and parent volunteer led programs (see Volunteer menu)

  • provide student lunchtime enrichment, staff & teacher appreciation, field trip expense support, and teacher discretionary funds

  • create connection through events which gather families, parents/caregivers, and students and cultivate a sense of community (subscribe to calendar)

  • advocate for Springer students with regard to broader district goals and programs

Why Donate to LAEF?

School funding is complicated. A portion of California property taxes fund public schools like LASD.  Property taxes are assessed at the time a property is sold and not reassessed as property value rises.  This was established by California Prop 13 election in 1978.  As time has passed and more of your neighbors have owned their homes for decades, the small portion of property tax collected has become substantially less than schools like LASD require to provide the exceptional well rounded education for which LASD strives. We are in the top 1% of schools in the state and want to stay that way! The Los Altos Educational Foundation was established to fill this funding gap. Federal & state funds directly provided to the Los Altos School District (LASD) are supplemented by a partnership in community fundraising by primarily by the Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF)

As always, contact Springer principal Sarah March or our PTA President with questions.

Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF)

Your donation to LAEF helps LASD deliver a high quality, well-rounded learning experience for all TK-8 students by funding teachers and staff for programs like STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts at all nine LASD schools.

Your donations are more important now than ever before. District and State funding alone are increasingly unable to provide the kind of educational opportunities that our community values and our children deserve.

We thank you for your generosity ensuring all Springer students continue to receive the best educational opportunities available and the Springer community continues to thrive.
