STUDENT FUNDRAISING OCT 2-OCT 18!

  1. CREATE your child’s STUDENT FUNDRAISING page and help them reach their goal! Complete instructions below.

  2. VOLUNTEER! We need your help as it takes over 100 volunteers to host Walkathon. Teen Springer Alumni can VOLUNTEER too! (service hours letters provided)

  3. ATTEND Walkathon! Put on your sneakers & sunscreen and have fun with the whole family! Come and go as you need to based on your schedule. Complete the waiver ahead of time.

What is a Walkathon? Check out the Walkathon Info Packet (sent home with your child on Oct 2) and this video about the history of Walkathon!

The Springer Walkathon has been a beloved Los Altos School District (LASD) tradition since 1987. What started as students knocking on neighbors’ doors for per-lap pledges has grown into a student-led fundraiser and community-building event. Through Walkathon, students:

  • Get involved in supporting THEIR school

  • Learn to set and achieve a goal by working together

  • Develop a sense of belonging, responsibility, and ownership related to their school.

Walkathon is not PTA’s biggest fundraiser and all donations ensure Springer PTA student enrichment programs, teacher appreciation, classroom support, all our community events, and more keep going! 

At the Walkathon event, our students walk to earn the donations they’ve received and to earn medals and prizes. It is the most fun day of the year as we celebrate our Springer Stinger community! Kids walk and run while parents relax in the shade or follow along. The music, food trucks, and bonus laps keep us all going!

SPRINGER STUDENT FUNDRAISING

Our STUDENTS get involved in supporting THEIR school and take pride in supporting Springer!  Collaborate with your child to create and personalize their page with photos and their words about their school and share with your friends and family. This is a great opportunity for our students to set a goal and work toward it. PLEASE WORK WITH YOUR STUDENT on this as a learning experience!

START HERE to create the fundraising page for your child. You’ll notice the language “Become a Champion” on the site.

  1. The default goal is $250. Raise or lower at your discretion to fit your student! Make it obtainable for them!

  2. Students should join their grade level team to qualify for participation awards! Participation = raising at least $1

  3. Each student should have their own fundraising page. Siblings should create separate pages to compete with their grade.

  4. Personalize your child’s fundraising page with a photo and a personal message. A default description has been provided but please personalize it as you wish.

  5. MOST IMPORTANT PART - help your child share their Springer fundraiser link with friends and family through your email, texts, and social media! No emails or phone number uploaded into the fundraising site.
